Speaking of trends...black and white happened to be the name of the game for my outfit today. It's pretty chilly and raining here today so I kept it pretty basic. The jeans I'm wearing are Forever 21 jeans from years ago. The booties are from Target, that I got on sale for half price! My Kenneth Cole bag was a Christmas present that I'm in love with. It's a great size, structure, and adds a pop of color to different outfits. The black and white open cardigan I purchased yesterday (yep, I went shopping again) from Gabriel Brothers which is a discount store similar to that of Ross or TJ Maxx. It was on clearance for $7 and was an extra 50% off so I got it for $3.50! 

You can't really see my make up that well, but I figured I'd include my new lipstick just in case it caught someones eye. My (awesome) sister gave me this Elizabeth Arden lip set for Christmas. It includes a lip liner, two glosses, and two lip sticks. Spoiler alert: it's amazing!

The lipstick I'm wearing is the dark maroon color called Cassis. I also put the light pink gloss in Sweet Pink over it....and I love the two together!

I guess it shouldn't come as that big of a surprise seeing as though this is a fashion blog...but I'm all about the trends. Black and white, matching separates, FUR VESTS! I fell for it, badly. I love the way a fur vest can spice up any 'ordinary' outfit. I've been on the hunt for one that fit well and wasn't going to break the bank and boy did I find it....in the strangest of places. Target; in the little girl's section. I'm small so when I saw a  nice fur vest hanging on display, I figured it wouldn't hurt to look. I looked, tried it on, and to my surprise it fit perfectly. The best thing about it; the price; because everyone knows that kid's clothes are much cheaper than women's. For a mere 24 bucks I too joined the fur vest trend and I'm so happy that I did.

I did some investigation on other fur vests that also won't break the bank and here are my finds:

As a first post, I figured I should stick to the name of the blog so my options were either make up or mark downs. Naturally I went shopping today (similar to most other days) and happened to find a great mark down so it was an easy decision for me. Mark down it is.

I decided to venture into DSW because I remembered that I had a gift card from literally YEARS ago that I was curious about. Something you'll learn about me quickly is that I don't generally mess with the 'full price' items, so like basically every other time, I walked straight to the clearance section. I had no idea what I was looking for (other than a great deal) until these jumped right out of the box at me. Steve Madden is one of my favorite shoe designers so when I saw that name etched on the box, I knew I had struck gold. Now is where it gets good. DSW was having extra percentage off of the clearance items based upon the color of the price tag. Red was an extra 70% off....the already clearance price. These shoes were originally $99.00, on sale for $59.94 and with the additional percentage off they rang up $17.99! Such a great deal! I tried them on in the store and then walked around my house when I got home to test them out and to my surprise, they are super comfortable. They zip up the back so they're easy to get on and off and have the perfect amount of heel on them. Not to mention, my gift card had $20 on it. My day couldn't have gotten any better.

So go get yourself some new shoes!
