Like I mentioned the other day- we had amazing weather this weekend. Unfortunately it's gone, but I was able to try out a few warmer weather options while I had the chance. For this look, I wanted to find an outfit that complimented my Coach tennis shoes. I am fully aware that these shoes are not going to be everyone's style-- and that's okay! They're super out there and unique; which is why I love them. The only problem is that because of that they're hard to style...but I was up for the challenge. I picked out these khaki colored shorts from JCPenny's, added this yellow sweater from Charolette Russe, and threw on my jean jacket. It was a settle, 'bland' outfit which allowed the shoes to be the 'main event'.

Please don't mind my ghostly pale legs :)

It's that time again. MAN MONDAY!
My boyfriend and I have very different taste in menswear so when he came to me in the store holding this sweater, I was so proud. It's a grey and cream stripped sweater from Express that has this amazing cowl neck line. The best part is....it was on clearance at TJ Maxx for 12 bucks! He paired it with dark denim and his teal converse for a pop of color.

Don't be ashamed to dig through those clearance racks!

Mother nature sure is strange. We somehow ended up with a weekend of amazing weather. When it's not...snowing, I take full advantage of wearing more 'springy' clothes. I've been dying to wear these Steven Madden heels that I bought (from DSW), but haven't had the chance until now. I paired them with these super distressed jeans that I cuffed at the bottom and added this orange flowly top that I tucked in just the front section of. I grabbed my Louis Vuitton bag and headed out.

Enjoy the warmer weather!

This shirt. I can't get enough of it. It's a white based blouse from Express, except it's far from the ordinary white blouse. It has this silver mesh from the shoulders down to the wrist that are piped in a deep green trim with navy paneling. It's so unique and fun! I wanted to pull out the green piping (that you can barely see in the photos) out a little bit, so I paired it with these green Lauren Conrad skinny jeans. I want to pass along my thoughts on these jeans in hopes I can help some of you. I love LC, but I kind of hate these jeans. They hug the body well and give it great shape, until you eat something. They have ZERO room to stretch, like literally zero. So because there is absolutely no give in these pants after a meal (or two), they're basically the most uncomfortable things in the world. And I like to eat, so that sucks. I paired this outfit with these tan colored booties from Charolette Russe and called it a day.

Just unbutton them if they get too tight :)

The day is finally here. Happy Valentine's Day! As I mentioned before, I wanted to share my Valentine's Day outfit with you. I wanted to keep it kind of 'classic' with a form fitting, longer dress. I found this one at, you guessed it, Gabe's for 5 dollars! It was a no brainer. I paired it with black heels and a simple black clutch. I also decided to keep my hair simple with big, bouncy curls.

I hope you all ate your weight in chocolate today!

As promised, I'm back with my third and final Valentine's Day outfit idea (although I will be posting what I actually wear on Valentine's Day later). This outfit might be my favorite. It's classy but very 'city sleek'. It's perfect for the girl that's trendy and has a bright personality. For this look I threw on my favorite pair of jeans from Pac Sun with my black ankle booties. I added this black and white stripped peplum top (from Gabe's) that I am obsessed with. I wear it WAY too often. I can't help it, it's just the perfect top for so many occasions. I put my hot pink blazer from H&M over top of it. If you don't own a blazer from H&M you're really missing out. They are super affordable and I love the fit. They come in actual sizes (2, 4, etc) so you can get it to fit the way that you want. Plus they have great patterns, colors, and even color blocked ones! To spice this up and make it even more bright and fun, I added my orange statement necklace. It pops against the neutral colored top and goes a long way with the pink to compliment it. My working gals could also use this look; just add black dress pants instead of jeans! It's so versatile and super cute.

I hope you have a great Valentine's Day!

I will continue with my third and final Valentine's Day outfit idea (besides the outfit I will actually be wearing on V day) Wednesday, but today I have a special treat. I've been thinking about ways to make my blog better or more helpful to people...since I started. I've had random ideas that I've used and some that should never see the light of day. Lucky for me, I have an amazing support system in my family and friends that are always passing along ideas too. My lovely sister and I were talking the other day and she had a brilliant idea (nothing new for her; she is literally a rocket scientist). MAN MONDAY! I think it's pretty self explanatory but if you need help, let me break it down. Every Monday (at least I will try) I will feature a man's outfit. This way guys can relate to my blog too. Are any guys out there going to care about reading a fashion blog? Who knows, but it can't hurt to try :)

Here's a man, my man, pulling out his model face for our first Man Monday. He is wearing a multi-colored plaid button up. His exact one if from Ecko, but you can find them anywhere. He paired it with khaki pants (from PacSun) and these navy blue and red New Balances. Thanks for being such a trooper babe!

Let me know your thoughts. Don't be shy!

Valentine's Day outfit ideas round 2!

Today I went for a bohemian look. This outfit is a perfect choice for the comfy, cute, and effortless type of girl...that we all wish we could be. I paired this coral/pink maxi skirt with a white t-shirt, added my jean jacket, and threw on these (amazing) sparkly gold flats. The head piece is home made (don't get too excited...it's much easier than it looks) and adds the perfect bo-ho touch. The chain part of the head piece is gold and I added this tiny peach flower charm in the front for a little flair. I love the way it turned out!

Don't be afraid to think outside of the box.

Valentine's Day is right around the corner- whether we want it or not. I know for some people it's a great day full of roses and chocolates but for others it's less than exciting. Although not every girl can count on a boy to make it great, the one thing we can always count on is a great reason to dress pretty in pink. We all know Valentine's Day is all about the pinks and reds so for today's post, I wanted to do a Valentine's inspired outfit  for the girl who doesn't want to take it too far.

I wanted to keep it simple but still make enough of a statement. I started with this pink skater dress that I got from Charlotte Russe. I layered a jean jacket (from Abercrombie) over it to casual it up a bit and a checkered black/grey/white scarf for some warmth. To make it extra girly, I threw on a pair of thigh high grey socks and then pulled on my grey boots. This outfit is perfect for the girl that doesn't want to be a total drab on Valentine's Day but also doesn't want to be a walking Hallmark card.

Stay tuned for more Valentine's Day options!

Unfortunately I don't have a job in the fashion industry, which means that although I'd love to pick out edgy, casual, fashion forward outfits everyday...I can't. Like most people, my job has a dress code that I have no choice but to abide to. I'll be the first to admit that it can be difficult finding 'cute' work appropriate outfits, especially in a reasonable budget. So today I put together a business casual work outfit for those working class gals like myself.

These pants are God's gift to the working woman. They feel like pajama's...no lie. I picked them up from Forever 21 on sale for around 12 bucks. For today's look I paired them with a plain black t-shirt under a black and white stripped blazer. Blazers are great for work, but can sometimes come off a little 'grandma'. This one doesn't though. The pattern is youthful but mature and because it's a tad bit cropped, it gives a great shape. I got this blazer from Kohl's on clearance (again) for 7 dollars! Now for shoes. My job requires that I be active sooooo heels aren't my first choice. I lean towards flats. For this outfit I grabbed these black and white oxford-like lace ups. My boyfriend got me these for Christmas so I don't know how much they were, however I do know they were from Pac Sun. They're so comfy and really cute-way to go babe!

A job in the fashion industry? A girl can dream ;)

For some reason today's weather is amazing. It's a wonderful 59 degrees which is about 58 degrees warmer than it's been lately. Needless to say, I took full advantage of it and picked out my new dress to wear! To say that I love this dress is an understatement. It's a shift dress from Forever 21 that I got on clearance for 5 dollars. The design is flawless with this beautiful multicolored flower design. Because the dress is such a statement on it's own, I decided to play down everything else. My green Kenneth Cole purse added a little something without competing with the pattern and colors. For hair and makeup- I went simple and very settle. And I know you guys are probably getting tired of these shoes, but too bad.

Get some use of those spring clothes today!
