As I mentioned in my previous post I got some statement necklaces for 25 cents, needless to say, I've been trying to style them with some different pieces. Today I went for the black/silver statement necklace. I wanted to do something 'fun' with my outfit so I picked out these crazy printed pants that I got from the Vera Wang collection at Kohl's a while ago. I added a plain yellow sweater (from Forever 21) as to not make the outfit too over the top. And as usual, I also threw on my favorite black booties.

Don't be afraid to make a statement!

Olive green has been such a go-to color of mine during the fall, and now winter season, this year. It's so easy to pair things with and can be so fun. These 'jeggings' in olive green are from......Walmart (no shame). They had a ton of colors and were only 8 bucks. They're also super comfortable. I added a cream peplum top and jean jacket for a casual look. I threw on some brown heeled booties and a navy/gold necklace. Now, about this necklace. I purchased it from Gabriel Brothers, but it's from the brand at New York and Company. Like I said Gabe's is a discount store similar to that of TJ Maxx and carries brand names for a discounted price. This necklace was 25 CENTS! Yes, you read that right....25 cents. The had a ton of selection and all of them were only a quarter. This is one of many pieces that I picked up and love! Plus, what can go wrong at that price?!

Go out and get some deals!

I know I've mentioned that it's cold in some of my other posts, but today...it was COLD. My work wasn't even open because it was too cold. Needless to say, I stayed inside all day. With my extra time, I decided to finally go through my dressing room and organize, de-clutter, and revamp it. In my opinion, this should be done at least twice a year (do as I say, not as I do). It allows you to get a chance to actually see all of your clothes, because as bad as it sounds, sometimes you forget about some of them. It also gives you an opportunity to get rid of older, unworn clothing in order to fit some new ones :)

I started with my drawers which house my short and casual dresses, tank tops, and camis. I went through each drawer and made piles of things to throw away, donate, and keep. I then folded them all and put them back in the drawers.

Then I moved to my hanging rack. I did the same sort of thing, just starting from one side and working my way to the next. I also made sure everything was hanging in the same direction and color coordinated.

In the end, I came out with one bag of trash and two bags of clothes to donate! It feels good to have it all organized and a little extra space to add some new pieces.
Time for you to do some 'winter' cleaning!

My recent obsession is thigh high socks (I plan on doing a post with different ways to wear them!). I think they're so flattering with the right outfit and can look really classy. Because it's FREEZING here, I layered them over top a pair of patterned black tights to give me some extra warmth. I wore a black skater skirt and white sweater to keep it simple. I also added a checkered black/white scarf, again, to get some extra layers. To give the illusion of longer legs, match your shoes with the color of your socks! It's seen as a whole unit together and shows extra length. Of course I wanted that, so I threw on some black booties. I also applied red matte lipstick and carried a red bag (not pictured, of course) to give it a little pop.

Hope you're staying warm too!

Even as an adult, snow days are still really awesome (just like these snow boots)! I scored these boots at Gabriel Brothers (see previous post) for 7 bucks! They have fur on the inside so they're super warm. Luckily I picked them up just in time.

Since it's snowing outside (I took these pictures yesterday because I saw the forecast), I figured that this post would be more than fitting. Winter whites. Who ever said that you can't wear white after labor day lied. We live in the 21st century, that 'unwritten rule' is long gone now. In fact I think white looks so sleek during winter time. Today, I styled two different looks for white pants during the cold weather. One casual and one dressy- hope you enjoy!

So pull out those white pants and ignore the looks of those that aren't as fashionable as you!

Although it's January 1 (whaaat!?) and cold out, I love wearing bright, 'springy' colors. There is no reason to put all of your brights or pastels away for an entire season. Throw on some jeans instead of shorts and flats instead of flip flops and you're ready to go. I added a darker colored bag (don't be afraid to mix different shades or colors) and leopard flats to add some dimension to it.

Wishing you all a very happy New Year!
