For this look, I went a little more daring than usual. I paired a black pencil skirt (from JCPenny's) with just a plain white t-shirt. I love a good pencil skirt. It can hug you in all the right places. I twisted the shirt towards one side and tucked it in. This is actually my boyfriends shirt (no shame-- thanks B!) so I rolled up the sleeves to make it fit me better. The jewelry is where I went daring. I'm not a huge fan of gold jewelry, but I just went for it today. I layered three chains together to get this stacked look, which I actually enjoy. I threw this red trench jacket I've had for years on with it and love the pop it added to this outfit. Also, this lipstick. It's a matte red from ELF called Rich Red....and it's 3 bucks from Target!

Step out of your comfort zone!

Today's post is a little different than usual; in a GREAT way. I teamed up with the beautiful Nicolette aka Beauty by Nicolette on YouTube. She uploads all things beauty and does great work. For this post we joined forces to bring you a complete look; make up and outfit. We decided on an 'occasion' so that it would be easier to tie it all together. Girls night out.

The outfit is a fun, flirty party dress. This dress has a history though. For Christmas my boyfriend (who is the master mind behind all of my photos- thanks babe!) bought me this dress in a different color. The mesh part was cream and the rest of the fabric was a beautiful coral color. He got it from Pac Sun and had purchased a small. Although he was correct in the size, it just didn't fit right. It was WAY too short and I knew I wouldn't ever find somewhere to wear it that I felt comfortable. I went to exchange it because I just wanted a bigger size and they didn't have anymore. I was so pissed. A few days later I was shopping in Gabe's (shocker) and saw this- the exact same dress, just in royal blue. I can't even explain my excitement! I obviously picked it up, tried on the medium, and fell in love. The story gets better. The price: THREE DOLLARS! It was a no brainer. For this look I paired it with these black and white houndstooth pumps. I threw on my black leather jacket for some warmth and the plain black clutch to carry the necessities.

Nicolette completed the make up. To go watch the tutorial of how to get the look go check out her YouTube channel! --->  http://www.youtube.com/user/NicoletteBaez?feature=watch

Grab the girls and head out!

Another snow day for me and I'm sure some (most) of you, so it's a good day for some blog reading. Luckily, I was able to get some pictures before all of the snow came. This outfit is little more casual and 'edgy' than most of my other posts. I put on these dark wash jeans from Forever 21 and let me tell you about a diamond in the rough. Forever 21 jeans are SUCH a steal. They're very plain, which I like; no design on the butt pocket, no rips, just plain jeans. They fit phenomenal and are only $7.80, all the time! This shirt....I don't have many details on because it's not mine. My lovely friend let me borrow it and it's been hanging in my closet ever since (hehe thanks Leesh). It's a blue and pink tye-dye printed tee and it's fabulous. I added this pink jacket that I picked up from Pac Sun a few months back for only 5 bucks! And like usual, my black booties.

Enjoy the snow :)

Remember what I said about wearing white in winter? It goes for shoes too. Just throw the whole 'rule' out the window. I did. I added these white pumps with my purple jeans from Kohls. Forewarning- I know this shirt may not be for everyone (as also shown by being on super clearance). It's a denim shirt with these awesome sleeves of silky, flowery goodness. Personally, I think it's unique and really fun. I left it unbuttoned and threw on a plain white t-shirt under it. And if you couldn't tell, I love this purse so I carried it again.

Fashion is all about taking chances!

I found these awesome red leather pants at Forever 21 on the clearance rack not too long ago. I guess not too many people understand that they can/will be used as a great piece....because they were marked down to 6 bucks! I threw on a cream sweater, black scarf, and black leather jacket to bundle up in. I wanted to add some spice to this outfit (as if red leather pants weren't enough) so I picked out this cheetah fedora. I love how this fedora can change any outfit. Not to mention it was also on clearance, at Wet Seal, for 50 cents! What a steal. For shoes I laced up my brown wedges to help tie in the brown on the hat.

Check those clearance racks-- sometimes there's hidden treasures :)

As I mentioned in my previous post I got some statement necklaces for 25 cents, needless to say, I've been trying to style them with some different pieces. Today I went for the black/silver statement necklace. I wanted to do something 'fun' with my outfit so I picked out these crazy printed pants that I got from the Vera Wang collection at Kohl's a while ago. I added a plain yellow sweater (from Forever 21) as to not make the outfit too over the top. And as usual, I also threw on my favorite black booties.

Don't be afraid to make a statement!

Olive green has been such a go-to color of mine during the fall, and now winter season, this year. It's so easy to pair things with and can be so fun. These 'jeggings' in olive green are from......Walmart (no shame). They had a ton of colors and were only 8 bucks. They're also super comfortable. I added a cream peplum top and jean jacket for a casual look. I threw on some brown heeled booties and a navy/gold necklace. Now, about this necklace. I purchased it from Gabriel Brothers, but it's from the brand at New York and Company. Like I said Gabe's is a discount store similar to that of TJ Maxx and carries brand names for a discounted price. This necklace was 25 CENTS! Yes, you read that right....25 cents. The had a ton of selection and all of them were only a quarter. This is one of many pieces that I picked up and love! Plus, what can go wrong at that price?!

Go out and get some deals!
