Like last time, I could start this out by explaining all of important things I've been doing that has kept me from blogging for six months...but that would be a lie. So, let's hop right into it.

I know you all have seen that tartan scarf at Zara that retails for way more than it should. Adorable? Yes. Worth it? No. So I was on a mission to find a similar one for less...and boy did I have success. I found this one on Amazon for twelve dollars and it arrived at my door steps two days later (thanks to my sissy's amazon prime!). It looks nearly identical to Zara's scarf and is crazy soft. I've been wearing it all the time so I decided to throw it on here. Today, I paired it with this red long sleeve top from Old Navy (that I may or may not have purchased in three different colors) and some boyfriend jeans from American Eagle. I cuffed the jeans a tad bit at the ankles and threw on some tan booties for today's shoe of choice.

Go order this scarf. Seriously.

Hang on tight! This post is going to be a little (okay, a lot) different than anything that I've posted before. Along with my passion for fashion (that rhymed), I also love home decor. Painting, crafting, decorating...I love it all and hopefully some of you do too.

I have been on the lookout for a reasonably priced bar cart for quite some time now. As with most items, it wasn't something that I was so into I was willing to spend a good amount for so I was patient with it. One day, I came across 'History in High Heels' blog and THIS genius Ikea hack tutorial. Of course, I ran to Ikea ASAP and picked up my own for under 30 bucks. Unfortunately, I didn't get pictures of the whole process but it's really straight forward. Purchase it (it's silver), put it together (SUPER simple), spray paint (if wanted), and style. My sister and I spent about 4 hour total putting it together and painting it, including time to allow it to dry prior to a second coat (thanks sissy!). I used a variety of different items to style it. Dishes, straws, books, bowls, and a sweet chalkboard sign that currently reads "cheers". Needless to say, I love it. It's the perfect size for the corner I was looking to put it in and adds the simple spark I was looking for.

Give me some feedback on the home decor posts, don't be shy!

I know all I keep talking about is fall...but a girl can't help it. Fall fashion is my absolute favorite! I combined a few of my favorite fall fashion trends into this one outfit (and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't overly excited about it). Scarf, oversize cardigan, and a hat. I just recently picked up this hat from Target and I'm a big fan. It's the perfect size and adds the perfect 'fall touch.' I threw on a plain white tee with this mustard, over-sized sweater, and a tribal printed scarf. Added some jeans and these shoes to finish it off. These shoes, you won't even believe. I just got them from JCPenny's (like two days ago) for $8.50! They are perfect: sassy but so practical. And for 8 bucks, you really can't get any better.

See you next week.

As I mentioned in my last post...fall weather is my absolute favorite! Unfortunately, for the past few days we have been having rather 'summery' temperatures. Luckily at night it cools down a bit which allows for the perfect opportunity to throw on a jacket or sweater and some booties and have the best of both worlds. So I did just that.
My (wonderful) boyfriend gifted this skort to me for my birthday and I love it. The envelope cut is so flattering, but because it's really a pair of shorts, it's also super easy. The print on this one is a city skyline so I wanted to keep everything else pretty basic. I added this plain black tee and booties. To knock the chill off of the evening, I added this edgy gray jacket...and clearly had way too much fun with the hood.

Go get an envelope skort, trust me on this one.

April 30th was my last blog post. It's now September 6th. Wow. There's really no 'reason' or 'excuse' for me falling off the face of the earth; other than it was summer, I went out of town a lot, had a birthday, switched jobs, and am now finally getting settled down again (still no excuse though).

I don't know about you all, but I am SO excited for fall season. The colors, the scents, the weather, the fashion... I just love it. Although it is still very warm where I am, evenings can get a bit chilly and I've loved being able to incorporate some fall pieces where I can. For this outfit, I pulled out my favorite pair of boyfriend jeans. I love these. They are incredibly comfortable and so chic. I found mine on clearance at Target, but here is a very similar pair from Forever 21. I added a graphic tee and hot pink blazer to make it relaxed, but fun. My turquoise statement necklace is the perfect added accessory for another pop of color. I finished the look with my white and black checkered heels to dress it up a bit.

If you don't own a pair of boyfriend jeans, you're missing out.

I have been loving this style of pant. The flowy, printed type of pant. They're so comfortable and look super chic when paired with the right thing. I picked these pants up from Gabe's in the Ali & Kris section for 7 dollars! I paired it with this jean button up top that I tucked in. To add a little more 'dressy' effect, I added my white pumps.

If you don't have a pair of pants like these, go get them. I promise you won't regret it.

Welcome back, it's been a while! But I'm back and with the warmer weather, I'm more excited than ever. Don't get me wrong, I love layering in winter and fall...but after months of endless snow, I'm so happy to see the sun. For the first time in a while, I'm able to throw on a light jacket/blazer and not freeze. I have been trying to find a way to wear this blazer (from Forever 21) for a while now. It's so stylish and chic, but I wanted it to be the main focus of my outfit so I needed to wait until I didn't need another layer over it. I paired it with an off white tank top and these boyfriend-ish jeans from American Eagle. I threw on my black booties to pull in the black and walked out the door.

I'll try not to disappear again.
